What is the Zero Liability policy?

100% protection. This policy guarantees ESL members maximum protection against fraud with complete liability protection for all of their Visa card transactions that take place on the Visa system. Should someone steal your card number while shopping, online or off, you are protected-and will pay nothing for their fraudulent activity.

How is the new Zero Liability policy different from the old policy?

The former policy required that members report fraudulent activity within 2 business days of discovery. After this 2-day period, members could be held responsible for up to $50 of the unauthorized charges. The new Zero Liability policy optimizes member protection by removing the 2-day reporting requirement and eliminating all member liability for transactions made over the Visa network.

Does Zero Liability extend to offline transactions?

Yes. The policy covers all of Visa credit and debit card transactions that are processed over the Visa network-online or off.

What can members do to protect themselves from card fraud on the Internet?
