Nine local high school ESL Federal Credit Union Members were recently named recipients of the Rochester Chapter of the Credit Union Association of New York 2012 College Scholarship Awards. The nine were among a total of 12 students who received a scholarship award. This year's ESL recipients include:
More than 250 students applied for the scholarship awards and only 12 were selected. Applicants were judged on their academic performance, community involvement and essay responses. The students were formally recognized for their achievements at a banquet held earlier this month. Scholarship award funding is provided by the Annual Rochester Chapter Credit Union Scholarship Golf Tournament, an event organized and hosted by credit union industry volunteers.
