ESL Federal Credit Union Celebrates Beam Signing Event to Celebrate Construction of New Goodman Street Office in the Beechwood Neighborhood

ESL Leaders, Community Members, and Dignitaries Sign a Construction Beam as a Symbol of Community Collaboration and Support

Rochester, NY — ESL Federal Credit Union celebrated the construction of its newest branch location today at 786 North Goodman Street with a Beam Signing event at the construction site. ESL leaders, community members, and dignitaries signed a construction beam that will be built into the structure of the new office as a symbol of the community working together to support one another.

The new branch is the second of three new branch builds in the City of Rochester to help improve access to financial resources for city residents.

“We look forward to continuing to connect with residents and businesses throughout the Beechwood neighborhood and the surrounding communities by supporting them with their banking and financial needs,” said Marcelina Nobrega Courtney, ESL Senior Vice President/Director, Retail Banking. “We know our success as a financial institution is intrinsically tied to the success of our community. There is a need to improve access to quality financial products and services within the City of Rochester and we are committed to meeting that need.”

ESL worked closely with the City of Rochester on the development and approval of the site plans. Construction started in July 2022 with the new office scheduled to officially open for business in summer 2023.

The new Goodman Street office will employ nine as part of the ESL workforce of more than 900 employees throughout the Greater Rochester region. The new branch will include employees who are fluent in English and Spanish to assist the needs of the Spanish-speaking community. This new location will provide personal banking, business banking and wealth management services. The full-service facility will have 24-hour ATM access and drive-through teller services.
