Summer interns share their experience at ESL in 2025
This summer, we welcomed more than 26 college students who worked at ESL through our Student Employment Program. Each of them gained an experience as unique as they are by working in one of the following departments: Loan Servicing, Member Service Support, Consumer Lending, Data Management, Accounting, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Marketing.
We asked several of our students to share some of their learnings, and we invite you to learn more about why they came to ESL!
Q&A with Megan Stout, Student Marketing Communications Assistant, ESL Headquarters

Why ESL?
I worked as a student teller last summer and had an amazing experience. I learned so much about banking and customer service, so I decided to apply to a different role within ESL this summer to continue learning in a different environment.
Can you tell us about your ESL internship experience?
My experience has been amazing so far. I am learning so much every day that I couldn’t learn in a classroom and growing in a professional environment. Collaborating on many types of projects with different individuals in my department has impacted me in invaluable ways.
What stands out the most?
What stands out the most is the culture at ESL. Everyone is extremely friendly and welcoming and will answer any questions happily. Working in such a positive environment has only improved my already outstanding experience.
What are your future career plans?
I hope to work in a marketing or market research agency after college, then move to an in-house marketing or digital engagement role eventually.
What advice do you have for other students?
Find what you are passionate about and don’t be afraid to ask questions!
