Your career matters to you.

You'll be happy to know that it matters to ESL, too.

That's why we support employee career growth and development by offering ongoing training and learning through our award-winning, in-house training department – along with job-related activities, outside seminars and workshops, and coaching and mentoring by immediate managers. In addition, we also firmly believe in promoting from within whenever possible.

At ESL, your learning begins on your very first day — with a fun, full-day, and informative New Employee Orientation program that launches you on the right foot and helps you get to know much more about the inner workings of ESL. Front-line employees typically spend 2-3 weeks in formal training before assuming their positions in our branches or in our Contact Center.

At ESL, we strongly encourage our employees to seek continuous learning opportunities, strive to exceed expectations in their current positions, and prepare for advancement opportunities that will build their careers within the organization.

We also enhance learning & development in the following ways:

All front-line employees begin their careers at ESL with extensive classroom training necessary for their new position. But it doesn't stop there! ESL encourages continuous learning and development by offering custom training workshops throughout the year.
With iLearn — ESL's online professional learning and development tool — we place continuous learning at your fingertips. This robust, interactive tool empowers you to identify content that enhances your skills, knowledge, and abilities — and helps you take charge of your continued learning and development.
Leadership comes in many forms: executive, management, supervisory, and those unofficial leaders who inspire others every day with their expertise and mentorship. Leadership Development at ESL is about creating and strengthening the behaviors required for leadership at ESL. With a progressive development track of three distinct but interrelated levels, our Leadership Development series cultivates our new leaders while fortifying existing ones. Whether one is a current manager seeking to further develop his or her leadership skills or an individual contributor who takes on a leadership role within his or her department, the Leadership Development series is a great professional opportunity.
The Manager SmartStart Series prepares new managers and supervisors for the challenges of their respective positions through a blended learning curriculum that combines independent, self-paced learning activities with a series of interactive classroom workshops. This energizing series also invites participants to schedule one-on-one meetings with other key functions in our organization. These introductory meetings help build strong working partnerships, facilitate effective communication, and pave a path to long-term effectiveness and success at ESL.
Once front-line employees leave the classroom, they are paired with mentors who share job knowledge, exchange ideas, and support coworkers as they grow their careers. This ongoing support through our Mentor Program ensures that new employees experience long-term success from the beginning. We believe coaching and mentoring discussions are critical to our employees' success; in fact, they are key aspects of our performance management efforts!
