ESL Federal Credit UnionSteps to Take in the Event of Fraudulent Activity on Members Accounts October 2, 2009 ESL Federal Credit Union has been made aware that there has been phishing activity regarding members' accounts through a text message, which tells members that their credit union debit card has been blocked and directs them to call an 800 number and enter personal account information. ESL has contacted our anti-phishing vendor and has requested that the fraudulent phone number be blocked. ESL takes very seriously any breach of members' secured information. We ask you to report immediately any fraudulent activity or security violation to our Fraud Prevention and Investigation Department. Once we are informed of fraudulent activity, we investigate it, evaluate it and then determine the course of action. We will inform you about the action taken and what is the best manner for you to proceed. ESL will NEVER ask you to confirm your personal information by using a link or a text message in an email. When you receive an email from ESL, we will always advise you to access our web site and Internet Banking by using you own bookmarks or favorites, or by typing our URL before logging into Internet Banking. If you think that you may have responded to this fraud attempt, please contact ESL immediately.
