ESL FEDERAL CREDIT UNION PROVIDES MOBILE BANKING FOR MEMBERS ON-THE-GO

Mobile banking provides members access to their accounts anytime, anywhere

Rochester, New York — In a move to provide greater access and convenience to its members, ESL Federal Credit Union launched mobile banking earlier this week. Mobile banking will enable ESL members to access their account balances, history, transfers and make bill payments from any phone with a browser or by downloading an application from either the iPhone or any Android phone. In addition, ESL is offering text message banking that provides members with the ability to securely check balances and transactions anywhere via a simple text message. The locally-owned credit union and its Internet banking provider, Intuit Financial Services, are teaming to offer this service to ESL members.

ESL's decision to offer mobile banking was based on the desire expressed by the company's members to have greater ease and accessibility to manage their financial matters when it is most convenient for them. Mobile banking provides members with the flexibility to conduct, view, and manage multiple transactions from any location, 24-hours-a-day, and seven days-a-week.

"Because of rapid changes in mobile technology and the growing popularity of mobile banking among consumers, we felt it important to develop a service, which meets our members' needs," said Celeste Kier, ESL Federal Credit Union Vice President/Marketing Director. "Convenience and access are very important to our members. They can call us, stop by a branch, perform online banking or conduct a live chat. And now, they have greater accessibility to us through our mobile banking channel."

Founded by George Eastman in 1920, ESL Federal Credit Union is a full-service financial institution with $4.0 billion in assets. ESL employs more than 600 people locally and has about 300,000 members world-wide. The company was recently ranked 16th as one of 2011 Best Small and Medium Workplaces in America by the Great Place to Work® Institute and presented by Entrepreneur® - the second consecutive year the company was named to the list. Access to the credit union includes 19 branch locations and more than 40 ATM locations, a Contact Center, and Internet online and mobile banking channels. The company is headquartered at 225 Chestnut Street, in Rochester, and can be found on the Internet at esl.org.
