700TH Member Receives Recognition and Gift

Rochester, New York... In acknowledgment of the first anniversary of the opening of ESL Federal Credit Union's Newark office, members of the Newark community, town officials, and ESL members and employees held a special celebration on Saturday, Mar. 12. The highlight of the event was the recognition of the 700th member, Sandra Cooney, who opened a checking account at the Newark office earlier in the month.

Cooney, a certified nursing assistant at DeMay Living Center in Newark, received $500 from ESL. In addition, ESL contributed an additional $500 to Newark Wayne Community Hospital Foundation, a behalf of Cooney, who selected the charity. The check presentation was held on Saturday. Newark Mayor Peter Blandino, Newark Wayne Community Hospital Administrator Mark Klyczek and Newark Community Hospital Foundation Director Annette Leahy also attended the check presentation, as well as Cooney's mother, Gladys Gatson, who accepted the check on Cooney's behalf.

Disc jockey, Jeremy Newman, from radio station WBEE was also on hand for a live remote. During the remote, Newman raffled several prizes including two tickets to a Keith Urban concert, which will be held in Buffalo in September. The recipient of the tickets was Newark resident Lena Odell.
