ESL Recognized on Two “Best Workplaces” Lists by Great Place to Work® and Fortune Magazine

ESL named one of the country’s Best Workplaces for Millennials and one of New York State’s Best Workplaces

Rochester, NY — ESL Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce that it was named one of the 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials in 2021, ranking number 42, on a list that includes small-, medium-, and large-sized companies by Great Place to Work® and Fortune magazine.

ESL is included among several other impressive financial institutions on the list, including First American Equipment Finance, Cisco, Hilton, American Express, and Navy Federal Credit Union. The list can be viewed at Fortune.com and Great Place to Work’s website.

ESL earned this ranking based on how millennials rated their experiences of trust and reaching their full human potential as part of their organizations, no matter who they are or what they do. Great Place to Work® collected survey feedback from more than 5.3 million employees in the country.

“One of the top priorities at ESL is to provide a positive environment for employees of all ages,” said President and CEO Faheem Masood. “We want every employee to feel valued and to have opportunities that allow them to grow and excel, both personally and professionally.”

The Best Workplaces for Millennials is one of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work and Fortune based upon employee survey feedback from Great Place to Work®-Certified organizations.

One of the Best Workplaces in New York State

ESL Federal Credit Union was also named one of the best workplaces in New York State by Great Place to Work® and Fortune magazine, coming in at #12 on the list that includes rankings for 60 large companies and 60 small and medium sized companies. The complete lists were announced Thursday morning.

This is the fourth time ESL has appeared on this exclusive list. ESL is included among several other respected New York-based large, medium, and small employers, including First American Equipment Finance, LaBella, Dixon Schwabl, and the Bonadio Group. Wegmans made the large-companies list at #14.

“The last year demonstrated the exceptional work ESL employees put in each day to support one another and serve our customers,” said President and CEO Faheem Masood. “Our employees continued to demonstrate our core values that make our workplace so unique. We are proud of all of their hard work at ESL and are honored by this recognition.”

To determine the Best Workplaces in New York, Great Place to Work® surveyed more than 78,000 employees from companies with locations in New York State and the New York City metropolitan area. Great Place to Work® provided more than 60 questions for employees; 85 percent of the evaluation is based on team members’ experience on the job including what employees say about their experiences of trust and reaching their full potential as part of their organization, no matter who they are or what they do. The remaining 15 percent is based on an assessment of all employees’ daily experiences of innovation, the company’s values, and the effectiveness of their leaders.

ESL exceeded benchmarks for comparably-sized organizations striving to create a great workplace. The complete list can be viewed at Fortune.com and Great Place to Work’s website.
