2022 ESL Jefferson Award Winners

Five Local Heroes Named 2022 ESL Jefferson Award Winners!

Congratulations to these local volunteers most recently recognized by ESL Federal Credit Union and News 10 NBC WHEC as ESL Jefferson Award Winners.

This year’s honorees are:

Steve Ball

As the leader of “The Dawgs,” Steve brings a group of fellow rock and rollers to perform at a wide variety of fund-raising events in our community. 100% of the money they raise at their performances is used to support a wide variety of local charities. That’s more than $124,000 to date! Steve will represent our community at the 2022 National Jefferson Awards event in Washington D.C.

Datwan Dixon

A Xerox software engineer, Datwan Dixon mentors the X-Cats (the robotics team from Wilson Magnate High School, helping students develop confidence, teamwork, and time management skills.

Santii Patel

This nine-year-old isn’t afraid to step up and get involved. Santii Patell raised money and initiated the construction of a local playground that’s accessible for kids of all abilities.

London Booker

Growing up in the city of Rochester, London was introduced to the game of lacrosse as a young child and loved it immediately. He continued to play through high school and college. As a Rochester City School teach, he shares the game he loves with other city kids, bringing the sport to the RCSD and volunteering at several other organizations to provide lacrosse programming and instruction.

Anne Tischer

A longtime volunteer and advocate for LGBTQ rights, Ann established and continues to evolve “Rainbow Seniors ROC” to fight isolation seniors often experienced during COVID and beyond. Anne exemplifies the motto of the group, “Live Vibrantly at Every Age.”
