We followed up with past recipients of the ESL Scholarship to discuss their college experiences. Four years after receiving their $2,000 college scholarship, these once-high school seniors each have an enlightening story to tell, and they offer some advice for students looking to apply for the ESL Scholarship.

I am currently attending Roberts Wesleyan College and pursuing my Bachelors of Science in Nursing.

What is one of your favorite parts about your post-high school experience?

One of my favorite parts of my post-high school experience is being able to practice true independence.

How did you use your scholarship funds?

I used my scholarship funds towards books and equipment.

What advice would you give to your high-school self or those looking to apply for a scholarship?

Advice I would give my high school self: This era of life is going to test your resilience. But just remember that your obstacles are the path and to keep God close.

Fall 2020 was my most successful semester yet, making the Dean’s list with the highest honor of a 4.0 GPA.
