ESL Federal Credit Union Named One of the Country’s 2016 Best Workplaces for Women
Local Organization Receives Recognition Second Consecutive Year
Rochester, NY — ESL Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce that for the second consecutive year, Great Place to Work® and Fortune magazine named the locally-owned credit union one of the 2016 Best Workplaces for Women.
ESL ranked #38 on this list, which includes other well-known companies such as Build-A-Bear Workshop (#3), Navy Federal Credit Union (#10), Hyatt Hotels (#25), and Wegmans (#35). The list is based on female employees’ assessments of communications with management, options for development and training, and support for work/life balance, among other factors. The ranking also takes into account how well-represented women are within the workforce overall and in management and executive positions. The list can be viewed at Fortune.com.
“We are pleased to be named to this important Great Place to Work® list,” said President & CEO Faheem Masood. “As a company in which approximately 70% of employees are female, it’s gratifying to know that our efforts to be a great workplace for all employees have created an environment where women truly thrive.”
According to data from Great Place to Work®, both women and men at Best Workplaces for Women feel their employers provide ample opportunities to grow and advance in their careers, and provide them with the flexibility they want to balance their work and personal lives.
The Best Workplaces for Women ranking is part of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work® and Fortune based upon employee survey feedback from Great Place to Work®-certified organizations. Earlier this year, ESL also was named a best workplace in financial services and insurance, as well as one from which to retire. ESL also ranked on the Great Place to Work Best Small and Medium Workplaces for five years (2015, 2014, 2013, 2011, and 2010) by Great Place to Work® and Fortune.
