ESL Federal Credit Union Named One of the Best 2018 Medium Workplaces in America
Eighth Time Since 2010 Locally-Owned Financial Institution Named to List
Rochester, NY — ESL Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce that it was named one of the best 2018 Medium Workplaces In America by Great Place to Work®, the global authority on high trust performance workplace cultures.
Coming in at #37 on a list of 100 medium companies (100-999 employees), this honor tops off a year in which ESL also has been recognized by Great Place to Work® and Fortune magazine as one of the country’s Best Workplaces for Millennials and Best Workplaces in Financial Services & Insurance.
“It is always an honor to be included on the Great Place to Work list,” said President & CEO Faheem Masood. “Our inclusion on the list is a testament to the practices we put in place to ensure we are providing our employees with an exceptional experience. The work our employees put in day-in and day-out has helped to build a positive and inclusive culture at ESL that we are all excited to be a part of, and helps us ensure that we deliver a superior experience to our customers.”
The following highlights from the Great Place to Work®’s survey tell a great deal as to why for the eighth time since 2010, the locally-owned financial institution continues to earn this distinction:
- 98 percent of employees state that ESL provides a great work atmosphere
- 97 percent of employees are proud to say that they work at ESL
- 70 percent of ESL’s workforce are women
- 84 percent of women hold leadership positions in Frontline Managers or Supervisors
Being ranked on the Great Place to Work® Best Small & Medium Workplaces list, now in its 15th year, reflects an organization’s commitment to employees, and the benefits of being a great workplace. Rankings are based entirely upon feedback gleaned via an anonymous Trust Index survey© from more than 158,000 employees at Great Place to Work-certified companies.
Results from the survey are highly reliable, having a 95 percent confidence level and a margin of error of five percent or less.
Winning a spot on this list indicates ESL has distinguished itself from peers by creating a great place to work for all. Not only do the majority of ESL employees experience the company as a great place to work, but this experience is consistent across the organization—regardless of gender, race/ethnicity, job role, or other personal characteristics.
The complete list of the 50 Best Small and 100 Best Medium Workplaces were announced earlier this morning on the Great Place to Work® website and Fortune.com. It also will appear in the November issue of Fortune magazine, which will be available at newsstands later this month.
