ESL Federal Credit Union Names John Paul Perez as Executive Director, Community Impact

Rochester, NY — ESL Federal Credit Union recently named John Paul Perez as executive director, community impact. In his new position, Perez will be responsible for operational management and oversight of the ESL Charitable Foundation.

“We’re excited to welcome John Paul to our growing Community Impact team,” says ESL vice president/director, community impact, Ajamu Kitwana. “Through his leadership we look forward to continuing our strategic philanthropic investments throughout Greater Rochester that help empower individuals, non-profits, and communities to thrive and prosper.”

Perez’s experience within nonprofit management spans more than 25 years, having worked with Catholic Family Center and Finger Lakes Performing Provider System. He most recently served as northeast vice president of customer success with Unite Us. Perez holds an MBA from the Simon Business School at the University of Rochester, and master of science degree in marriage & family therapy from Eastern Nazarene College.

Perez will assist ESL with philanthropic community investment efforts aligned with four areas of impact: expanding individual opportunity, building strong neighborhoods, strengthening local organizations and systems, and uplifting community stories.
