ESL Federal Credit Union Ranks Nationally for its Employee Training & Development Programs
Locally Based Credit Union Recognized with Training APEX Award
Rochester, NY — For the 18th consecutive year, ESL Federal Credit Union has been recognized by Training Magazine as a Training APEX award winner. The annual APEX Awards — which took place in Orlando, Fla. recently — recognize organizations who provide best-in-class employee training and development. ESL ranked #6 in 2023 out of 105 awardees. ESL was also recognized with the Outstanding Training Initiative Award.
ESL was recognized on these factors, and highlights from 2023 also include:
- A robust employee career counseling program that includes personalized career and interest assessments, one-on-one coaching sessions, interview skills training and practice, resume assistance, and a dedicated site on the corporate intranet containing self-service tools and resources.
- The rollout of hybrid learning solutions that accommodate and engage both in-person and remote participants in one learning event.
“We’re honored to be recognized again this year as a Training Apex Award winner for our strong portfolio of learning and development programs,” said Maureen Wolfe, Executive Vice President/Director, Human Resources & Community Impact of ESL Federal Credit Union. “We know providing our team with unique opportunities for growth and development is imperative to attracting, retaining, and nurturing our staff, and building a thriving workplace.”
The company touts historically low turnover, in part because of its continued growth and ongoing development opportunities available to employees. In 2023, 73% of all jobs were filled from within and 93% of leadership positions were filled internally.
ESL invests significant resources to provide valuable learning solutions to its workforce. ESL employees have the opportunity to further their skillsets through coursework offered each year. Courses include topics ranging from leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and mentoring. Employees are also eligible to receive up to $5,250 of tuition aid each year for undergraduate or graduate coursework.
