ESL Federal Credit Union Promotes Six to Vice President on Senior Management Team

Rochester, NY — ESL Federal Credit Union recently announced the promotions of six employees to the locally-owned financial institution’s senior management team and role of vice president.

  • Caytie Bowser will serve as vice president/director, product development & management. She most recently worked as manager, personal products portfolio. As VP/Director, Product Development & Management, Caytie is responsible for the effective development and management of ESL’s product and service portfolios, including product design, understanding market, financial and credit opportunities, as well as risks and trends. Bowser graduated with a bachelor of science in business administration from the State University of New York at Geneseo and a master’s in business administration from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She resides in Fairport with her husband and two children.
  • James Darcy assumes the role of vice president/director, treasury. He previously worked for ESL as treasurer. As VP/Director, Treasury, Darcy manages ESL’s wholesale investment and borrowing portfolios, quarterly earnings forecasts, business casework, and profitability analysis throughout the company. He graduated from St. John Fisher College with a bachelor of science in business administration, with a concentration in finance. He lives in Webster with his wife and three children.
  • Ajamu Kitwana now serves as vice president/director, community impact. He most recently worked as the Executive Director of the ESL Charitable Foundation, and will continue to oversee the Foundation’s philanthropic and collective impact initiatives. Kitwana received a master’s degree in business administration from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and holds both his bachelor and master of science degrees in civil and environmental engineering from Stanford University. He resides in Rochester with his wife and three children.
  • Tina Knapp rises from her previous role of controller to the new position of vice president/director, payments and service support. As vice president, Knapp will ensure appropriate levels of member service and operational efficiency while minimizing risk for the company. Knapp graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a bachelor of science in accounting, and master’s in finance. She currently resides in Henrietta with her husband and two children.
  • Jeremy Newman steps into the role of vice president/deputy general counsel after previously serving as associate general counsel. As vice president, Newman will provide legal guidance to the company and its subsidiaries ESL Investment Services and ESL Trust Services, and is responsible for the development, maintenance, and assessment of ESL's governance architecture. Newman graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Albany and his juris doctor from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He lives in Perinton with his wife and two children.
  • Jennifer Shoemaker is named vice president/director, market & business intelligence after previously serving as manager, business product portfolio and market intelligence. In her new role, she is responsible for leading the design and development of corporate intelligence methods and systems to enhance ESL's decision-making capabilities and drive strategic results. Shoemaker holds a bachelor’s in business administration from Nazareth College. Shoemaker lives in Ontario with her husband and two children.
