January 1, 2026 The acquisition closes.
January 1, 2026

External Account Transfer daily/monthly limit changes go into effect:

  • Daily Limit Changes – The daily limit will change from $5,000 to $2,000.
  • Monthly Limit Changes – The monthly limit will change from $20,000 to $15,000.
January 2-7, 2026 You will receive your welcome communications from ESL in the mail. This will include information about your account conversion, information about ESL products and services, and what you need to do to prepare for the conversion.
January 5, 2026

Online Bill Pay maximum payment amount per bill changes go into effect:

  • The maximum payment amount per bill will be $9,999.
January 6 – 30, 2026 Each Generations branch ATMs will be temporarily unavailable for a few hours as it is transitioned to an ESL ATM.
January 19, 2026 You will receive a reminder email with information and instructions on how to enroll in ESL Mobile/Online Banking, ESL Bill Pay, ESL Zelle®, and ESL External Account Transfer.
Before January 25, 2026

If you use Online Bill Pay:

  • Schedule any necessary payments through January 30.
  • Any payments scheduled to take place on or before January 30, will be processed.
  • Print or download your payee list and recent payment history from Generations Bill Pay. (This won’t transfer to ESL.)
After January 25, 2026 Generations Online Bill Pay will be unavailable.
January 30, 2026 – 6 p.m. Generations branches and Contact Center close at 6 p.m. for conversion weekend.
January 30, 2026 Generations Mobile and Online Banking convert to read-only mode (no transactions allowed).
January 31, 2026 Generations branches and Contact Center remain closed; final day of Generations statement activity.
February 1, 2026   Conversion Day: Your accounts convert to ESL.
February 1, 2026
  • Activate your new ESL card(s).
  • Destroy your Generations cards.
  • Update merchants that auto-bill your card(s).
February 1, 2026

If your account numbers remain the same, you may continue using Generations checks.

  • Your Generations checks and ACH deposits and payments will continue to process throughout 2026.
  • The routing number for new payments becomes 222371863.

If your checking account(s) number(s) change:

  • You will receive a box of new ESL checks.
  • Begin using your ESL checks.
  • Update any existing ACH payments or direct deposits with your new account number and ESL’s routing number 222371863.
February 2, 2026
  • Enroll in ESL Mobile and Online Banking
    (Username: Member Number; Initial password: last 4 of SSN).
  • Download and use the ESL Mobile Banking app.
  • Begin scheduling recurring transfers and payments.
  • Enroll in ESL online statements via ESL Mobile or Online Banking.
  • Enroll in ESL Online Bill Pay via ESL Mobile and Online Banking and begin scheduling new payments.
February 2, 2026 – 9 a.m. Branches and Contact Center reopen.
January 31 - March 2, 2026 Generations Mobile and Online Banking remains in read-only mode (no transactions allowed).
