Once complete, you’ll officially become part of the ESL family. ESL is the largest locally-led financial institution in the Greater Rochester region. Important Dates

Your banking relationship is important to us, and we want you to feel confident and prepared. We’ll share exact dates and next steps well in advance, but here are some key milestones to keep in mind.

 

The Acquisition Closing is expected to occur on January 1, 2026

 

The Account Conversion is expected to occur on February 1, 2026

What You Can Expect

We’re working to make the move from Generations to ESL as smooth as possible. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Account Conversion. Your Generations accounts will transfer to ESL automatically.
  • Becoming an ESL Member. As a credit union, ESL is owned by its members — which means you’re not just a customer, you’re part of a member-owned financial cooperative. As part of the conversion process, we’ll enroll you as a member and open a membership savings account (Membership Daily Dividend Account) and will fund it with $1 on your behalf.
  • Same People. You’ll continue to see the same friendly faces at your local branches.
  • Ongoing Communication. We’ll provide clear instructions and plenty of time for updates. Until the conversion is complete, you can keep using your Generations debit, ATM, and/or HSA cards, checks, direct deposits, and mobile and online banking as usual.
